You can actually wash your hair with cold brewed mint tea! It’ll help relieve dryness and dandruff! And to use on your skin, you’ll need to crush up a handful of leaves and add some water, apply to face and rinse.
Its great for preventing nausea and helps to get rid of headaches, and can help relieve sore and achy muscles by adding some leaves to your bath.
Add some to your homemade microwavable heating packs!
Also soothes the stomach and helps improve digestion and oral health. Because of the antioxidants, Mint teas help remove toxins from the body and builds up the immune system. Who doesn’t need that!?
Mint Tea is great for colds!
After brewing your tea to wash your hair in! Be sure to breathe in the steam of the leaves! Mint is a natural decongestant and will clear your sinuses! Just remember each mint has different strengths… Peppermint is the strongest.
The menthol in the plant is a natural relaxant which is what opens your sinuses up. But you also don’t have to have a cold to breathe in the minty freshness. I will do that every time I brew some mint, cause its my favorite smell, and why wouldn’t you?
Natural Repellent
Mint is a great overall plant to have nearby and on hand at all times. Not only is it amazing for your body but it also has a natural repellent about it towards pests that you don’t want around the house.
It helps repel mosquitoes, aphids and rodents, which is great to have planted near lounging spots around the house. Or you can use it near your chicken pen and help keep bugs away from your chickies.
You don’t have to have the plant growing near them either, although its probably the best choice. You can also just use the essential oil made from the mint plant, and spray it along problem areas to also help repel mosquitoes, fleas, and other pesky bugs.
We have put peppermint essential oil on a cotton swab and stuck them in holes in our garden to help repel moles and voles.
